Bengkulu


Bengkulu province is located in the western of Bukit Barisan mountain spreading from the border of West Sumatera and Lampung provinces.


Administratively it is divided into 8 regencies ;

South Bengkulu
Rejang Lebong
North Bengkulu
Kaur,
Seluma
Muko-Muko
Lebong
Kaphyang regencies

and one city ; Bengkulu which also becomes the capital city of the province.

The province has some developed commodities from agriculture, fishery and forestry sestors. They are palmoil, rattan, plywood, furniture, crumb rubber, frozen shrimp, and canned fish. It also produces various types of vegetables, fruits and crops. They are among others are tomato, soybean, mungbean, long bean, peanut, bean, carrot, durians, mango, papaya and banana.
While the plantation can produce commodities such as palm oil, rubber and cacao which can be found in North and South Bengkulu. While coffe can be found in Rejang Lebong regency. Other commodities are pepper, clove, tea, kapok and sugar tree can be found in almost all ares of the province.

The province also produces fishery sector such as fresh water fish, embrakment, and sea fish which until have not been cultivated maximally and waited to be developed further especially benefitting from Exclusive Economics Zone.

In the tourism sector the province has various tourist objects starting from its natural, cultural and historical tourism. Some of natural tourist objects are Kaba Hill in Curup, Belerang Semeleko hill in South Lebong, Raflesia Arnoldi flower in Taba Penanjung, Paar Gunung natural reserve in Kepahyang, and Lubuk natural reserve in Pino. And Beach tourist objects are Panjang Nala beach, white sand beach in Baai island in Selebar, lake in Selebar, and Tes lake in South Lebong. While cultural tourist objects are Tabot, Enggano dance, Vesurak fabric craft and the historical tourist objects are the house of Bung Karno, Malborough fortress, and Thomas Par monument in Segara gulf.

As an investment destination the province has good and sufficient facilities and infrastructures. Among others are Fatmawati and Muko Muko airports in Bengkulu, and Linai and Malakoni Enggano ports.
